Which formats should I use?#

PDF, DOC, and DOCX are good starting points for website uploads. Use the formats and size limit shown by the upload control. You can also paste plain text, which does not preserve your document’s formatting.

What document lengths can I check?#

Documents need at least 125 words. Free AI checks have a lower word limit than Pro; your dashboard shows the limit for your plan and check type. Documents outside the applicable range are refused; your writing is never cut automatically. Split a longer document into smaller sections. AI detection also needs readable prose, so a document made mostly of headings, references, or fragments may not contain enough text to assess.

Why can’t the text be read?#

• Make sure the PDF contains selectable text. An image-only scan needs OCR first.
• Remove password protection and export the document again if it cannot be opened.
• Try exporting a word-processing document as a PDF if conversion fails.
• If the same file keeps failing, contact support with the filename and error message.
