Understanding your results
Understand the difference between AI detection and similarity, and read each report in context.
What does an AI score mean?
The AI score describes the model’s assessment of the analyzed writing. Open the report to see which passages contributed. Short or excluded passages may not be scored in the same way as the rest of the document.
Treat the score as a signal for review. Detection systems can make mistakes, and a score is not proof of how a person wrote a document.
Does similarity mean plagiarism?
Similarity means text matches material in the comparison sources. A match may be an appropriately cited quotation, a reference, a common phrase, or a passage needing attention. Review the source and the passage before drawing a conclusion.
Why might another result differ?
Different document versions, extraction, comparison databases, and report settings can affect results. Compare the same document and review the underlying highlights. If you think a result qualifies under our guarantee, read its terms and contact support with the relevant reports.
